Uvjeti korištenja
The motif of Christmas - New Year issue of Croatian post Mostar postage stamp shows a music notation of one of the oldest Croatian Christmas songs „Narodi nam se Kralj nebeski” (Heaven's King is born to us) and visually follows its text. Throughout eleven strophes Christmas season is sung and the first and the last strophes are sung most often.
Heaven’s King is born to us
From Mary, pure virgin.
We rejoice to the new born
The young King we pray.
Give us God health and joy
and all abundance!
The birth of Jesus Christ and celebration of Christmas in Croatian people brings special feelings, and Christmas carols creates an atmosphere of peace and joy. Believers recognize themselves in carols, with carols they are expressing their faith and willingness to live according to the Jesus words.
