Croatian Post (HP) Mostar has issued a postage stamp in commemorating the 75th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Indian politician and national leader that won India's independence by nonviolent methods. Gandhi’s doctrines, nonviolent messages and hunger strikes became an inspiration to nonviolent movements in other parts of the world. Mahatma Gandhi was killed on January 30th 1948, by a Hindu traditionalist named Nathuram Godse because he considered Gandhi as someone who was distorting Indian tradition and religion.
The stamp design’s autor is Tamara Herceg, and the stamps are in postal traffic from Januray 30th 2023. This issue, as well as Croatian Post Mostar’s previous issues may be purchased online through our webshop www.epostshop.ba.
